Want to be environmentally friendly? Buy Diesel

One of the latest research on engines and their efficiency levels has shown that diesels are far more fuel-efficient than petrol alternatives. Therefore it seems wise to consider a diesel variant while purchasing new cars. The additional argument for taking new cars with the diesel power plant under the bonnet is the fact that some units are reported to emit even less carbon dioxide than new cars of hybrid type when out of town. As per other research carried out recently, diesels are seen as becoming the more and more popular choice. Over the last several years new cars with diesel units accounted for an estimated forty percent of all vehicles sold in the United Kingdom. And there are at least several reasons for which buyers choose diesels while making purchases of new cars. The first seems to be the economy. Most calculations have shown that they burn less fuel than petrol engines over a given distance. And, what can be even more surprising, diesels appear to be more fuel efficient than some hybrid cars while on motorways. Thanks to lower carbon dioxide emissions drivers can have substantial savings on road and environment tax. And are there any cons of having new cars with diesel units? Well, yes. They seem to be not so efficient in cities and need a bit more time to both accelerate and get to the desired speed than petrol power plants.
